We are seeking a Human Resources & Payroll Manager to join our client located in the downtown Toronto area. The HR and Payroll Manager will be part of a driven and collaborative team that is growing. RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Manage the staffing requisitions and internal and external job postings
• Assist with creation of job descriptions and follow up by conducting interviews
• Manage the full recruiting lifecycle assisting management to find, hire, and retain quality talent HR
• Act as HRIS system support for managers and employees
• Manage the full cycle Co-op/Intern program through Universities/Colleges including subsidy programs associated with this program
• Monitor and update changes to employee profiles in ADP
• Organization of HR and Payroll files
• Assist with the preparation of memos, announcements, social media posts, internal communications, and letters
• Create, review and update Employee Handbook and Company policies and ensure regulatory compliance
• Manage and track various other internal HR perks offered to employees
• Assist in developing and managing a Company intranet with employee announcements and job postings
• Assist with employee investigation effectively and maintain employee issues/disciplinary actions records or employee notes on file
• Assist with employment related risks, including terminations, litigation, and investigations in accordance with government regulations and company policy
• Manage and assist with the performance management program focused and tied to overall annual employee review process
• Manage and assist with the health and safety committee in compliance and training
• Completes other projects as assigned/ ad hoc duties and projects Benefits
• Manage and assist with the management of enrolling and terminating employees in the benefits group plan and RRSP
• Manage and assist with benefits journal entries
• Manage and assist with workplace safety insurance boards monthly filing and claims
• Manage and assist with all year end filings
• Input benefit rates, review group benefits and RRSP billing statements and reconcile
• Completes other projects as assigned/ ad hoc duties and projects
QUALIFICATIONS:
• University Degree or equivalent College Diploma in HR or related field
• 3-4 years professional experience in Human Resources and payroll
• Superior professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness in dealing with people
• Excellent sense of responsibility and ownership 3
• High degree of integrity, discretion, strong work ethic and confidentiality
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, self motivated individual who is proactive, takes initiative, flexible and adaptable to changing needs within the organization.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, works well under pressure, multi-task and meet deadlines
• Able to work independently, juggling numerous tasks and activities, completing them on time with little re-work
