Job Summary:

Our Client is one of Australia’s leading payment gateways, specialising in the collection of payments for clients around Australia in industries such as Healthcare/Fitness, Childcare, Medical and many more and are looking for experienced  DevOps Engineer who would love to join an exciting and growing team. 

Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure Design & Automation: Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure
  • (primarily AWS) using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles. Use tools such as Terraform toautomate infrastructure provisioning and management.
  • CI/CD Pipeline Management: Develop, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines for faster, more efficient software releases. Collaborate with developers to ensure streamlined deployments.
  • System Monitoring & Optimization: Implement and manage automated monitoring and alerting
  • for system health, performance, and availability. Proactively identify system bottlenecks and troubleshoot performance issues.
  • Collaboration with Development Teams: Work closely with backend and frontend development teams to ensure smooth deployment processes and production readiness for new releases. 
  • Help streamline workflows between teams using Jira and Kanban methodologies, with a future transition to Agile/Scrum.
  • Cloud Infrastructure Management: Manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, and RDS to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure.
  • Security & Compliance: Work with the team to ensure secure coding practices and implement security measures to protect customer data and payment transactions.
  • Support Infrastructure & Legacy Systems: Provide ongoing support for both legacy systems (monolithic architecture) and modern systems (microservices), particularly related to transaction processing, API integration (e.g., Cuscal BPay), and new product features.
  • Integration Projects: Assist with integrating new third-party services, such as Cybersource for payments and additional biller codes for the payment gateway.
  • Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Create and maintain documentation on infrastructure, deployment procedures, and best practices. Share knowledge across teams to foster a learning environment.

Requirement:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in DevOps or a similar role, with hands-on experience in infrastructure management, automation, and deployment pipelines.
  • Cloud Expertise: Proficiency with AWS, including services like EC2, Lambda, S3, RDS, and IAM.
  • Experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code is essential.
  • CI/CD Automation: Strong experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI. Ability to set up and maintain automated deployment pipelines.
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration platforms.
  • Scripting & Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or Go for automating workflows and monitoring.
  • Version Control & Collaboration: Strong experience with Git and collaborative workflows, including branching, pull requests, and release management.
  • Microservices & API Management: Experience working with microservice architectures and integrating with third-party services (e.g., Cuscal BPay, Cybersource).
  • Security & Best Practices: Understanding of cloud security principles, including access management, data encryption, and secure API practices.
  • Monitoring Tools: Familiarity with monitoring solutions such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack for tracking system performance and setting up alerts.
  • Agile Methodologies: Experience working in an Agile environment using tools like Jira and Kanban, with a future transition to Scrum
