Why we make a point of this

An exit fee is a bet that you would rather stay than pay. We would rather win the argument every month.

Your candidates, your clients, the notes your team wrote and the CVs they collected are yours. Charging to hand them back turns a database you built into leverage against you, and it only ever gets used at the worst possible moment.

The seat is $15. The desk is not.

Four things a recruiter uses daily are metered separately. All four are in our subscription.

SMS

$28 per line per month, plus prepaid credits with a $50 minimum top-up and per-message rates on top.

Contact enrichment

Credit packs from $15 a month for 30 credits, up to $85 for 200.

Premium job board posting

Runs off a prepaid wallet held with Manatal, minimum top-up $150.

Mass email volume

Metered by plan — 200, 1,000 or 5,000 a month. Beyond that, paid credits.

Questions before you move

Does Manatal really charge to export your own data?

Their support pricing documentation prices a full data export, including CVs and attachments, at $900 per instance. Separately it allows one free CSV export a year, with additional CSV exports at $100 per instance per month. Their terms restate the one-free-export position. We would encourage you to read those pages yourself rather than take our summary of them, because it is the kind of thing worth knowing before you load ten thousand candidate records into a system rather than after.

What does Recruitly charge to export?

Nothing, at any time, in full, including attachments. It is not a retention tactic we are giving up reluctantly — a product that has to make leaving expensive is telling you something about how confident it is. Export whenever you like, including on the free plan.

Manatal is cheaper per seat. Why would I move?

It is cheaper per seat, and we are not going to pretend otherwise: $15 per user on an annual commitment is among the lowest credible prices in the category. The question is what sits around the seat. SMS is $28 a line per month plus prepaid credits, contact enrichment is sold in credit packs, premium job posting runs off a prepaid wallet with a $150 minimum top-up, and mass email is metered by plan. The entry plan also caps you at 15 live jobs and 10,000 candidates, and the next tier up is more than double the price. Add the pieces you actually use and compare that number, not the headline.

Is there anything Manatal does better?

Value for money and ease of use, genuinely. For the money it is one of the most approachable systems in the market, its AI candidate scoring and social-profile enrichment are real features rather than badges, and it scores 4.7 out of 5 for ease of use on Capterra. If you are a small team that wants an ATS running this week, does not need timesheets or invoicing, and is comfortable with the export terms, it is a reasonable choice and we would say so.

Will you help me get my data out?

Yes. A migration specialist runs a two-stage process — a sample export on day 1, plan and quote signed off on day 5, 100 records per module validated by you on day 12, and the full load with a second sign-off on day 14 — then both systems run in parallel before go-live. What we cannot do is waive another vendor's export fee, so factor it in and, if it applies to you, get the export requested early.

Do the limits really matter?

They do if you are an agency rather than a single in-house hirer. Fifteen live jobs is a normal Tuesday for a two-desk agency, and ten thousand candidates is a database you will pass in your first year of any serious advertising. Recruitly has no job or candidate cap on any plan, including the free one.

Leaving should be free. So should staying be earned.
