Every campaign sent to a dead address is a bounce, and bounces hurt how your emails land for everyone else. Email List Cleanup in a Recruitly Loop Channel finds those addresses before you send. This video shows how to turn it on and where the dead addresses go.

Watch it on Recruitly Play (1 min 39 s), part of the Run your desk series.

Turn on Email List Cleanup

  1. Open your channel and press Channel actions beside the message box.
  2. Choose Email List Cleanup. The Simi Agent Tasks panel opens on the right.
  3. Turn on Email List Cleanup. Simi checks every address in the channel and moves the dead ones to your Email Blacklist.
  4. Pick monthly or weekly. The cost for the month shows before anything starts.
  5. Press Start checking monthly (or weekly). The panel then shows it is on.

What Simi finds and where it goes

Simi looks for addresses with no mail server, a domain that does not exist, a disposable address or an invalid address. When the day's checks are done, Simi posts one card in the channel saying who was moved to the blacklist and why.

  • Open the Email Blacklist from the card. The addresses sit under the Simi List Cleanup filter, each with its reason.
  • Email campaigns and drips skip them from then on. Your one-to-one emails still send.
  • Remove an address from the blacklist and Simi never adds it back. A domain that comes back to life is taken off at the next check.
  • If a run would blacklist too many addresses at once, Simi holds them for a person to check.

See Email List Cleanup and Loops in Recruitly.

How much does Email List Cleanup cost?

Each address checked costs $0.0015, so 240 people checked monthly is about 36 cents a month. Addresses already on the blacklist are skipped and not charged, and it has its own monthly cap, separate from your email credits. See pricing.

What happens when the monthly cap is reached?

The checks pause and Simi says so in the channel once that month, with a link to raise the cap.
