How to connect Recruitly to ChatGPT and update your CRM by asking
Add Recruitly to ChatGPT as a custom MCP plugin, sign in, allow AI changes, then create candidates, add clients and update fields just by asking ChatGPT.
Recruitly works inside ChatGPT as a plugin. Once connected, you create and update records by typing what happened, the way you would tell a colleague.
Watch it on Recruitly Play (2 min 33 s), part of the Get set up series.
Connect ChatGPT
- In ChatGPT, open Plugins, click Add and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Recruitly and paste the Recruitly server address. Authentication stays on OAuth.
- Tick I understand and want to continue, and click Create as a plugin.
- Click Connect Recruitly and sign in with your Recruitly account.
Allow changes
ChatGPT can only read until a super user allows changes. In Recruitly, press slash, open User Management, then AI Assistant Access, and switch on Allow AI assistants to make changes.
Put it to work
- Name Recruitly in your message and describe the new candidate. ChatGPT creates her with you as owner and checks she is not already on file.
- Add the company she mentioned as a client in the same message.
- When something changes, ChatGPT updates just that field.
- Ask it to add someone you already have and it finds them instead.
