How to let your other tools post into team chat with a webhook

Add a webhook to a loop so your timesheet app, website or Zapier posts messages, heads ups and celebrations into it, and turn it off or delete it any time.

Your timesheet app, your website or a Zapier zap can post straight into a loop. Each tool gets its own webhook, and its posts show which tool sent them.

Watch it on Recruitly Play (1 min 58 s), part of the Run your desk series.

Add a webhook

  1. Open the loop, click the three dots at the top and choose Webhooks. You see the tools already posting and who added each.
  2. Press Add a webhook and name it after the tool. The name shows on every post.
  3. Look at how each post type will appear: a message, a Heads up, the other notes or a celebration.
  4. Press Create webhook and copy its private link now. It is shown only once.
  5. Instructions for your IT person copies the link and how to post to it, ready for an email.

When the tool posts

Posts land as one of the loop's members, with via and the tool's name beside them. A Heads up stays at the top until everyone taps Got it. Click via to open the webhook, copy the instructions again, turn it off so it stops at once, or delete it so its link stops working.

If a tool posts too fast, Loops turns the webhook off and anyone in the loop can turn it back on. See Loops and developers.

Can Zapier post into Recruitly's team chat?

Yes. Add a webhook to the loop and give Zapier its private link.

What if a webhook link leaks?

Delete the webhook and its link stops working at once.
