Candidates ring to ask where their application is. A candidate portal answers that for them, under your agency's name. Every Recruitly agency already has one. This video shows how to switch it on, make it yours, invite a candidate, and what the candidate sees when they sign in.

Watch it on Recruitly Play (2 min 44 s), part of the Get set up series.

Switch the portal on

  1. Press slash and type candidate portal. It opens from the search bar.
  2. Switch on Enable Portal. It saves straight away.
  3. Type a name in Portal Domain and press Save Portal Settings. Your portal is live at that address, with a button to copy the link.

Make it yours and choose what candidates see

  1. Under Branding, upload your logo and pick your theme colour.
  2. Under Visibility, choose the pipeline stages a candidate can see. Keep the internal ones to yourself.
  3. Hide Job Search, Documents or Interviews if you do not want them in the portal.
  4. Under Documents, add the guides candidates always ask for. They show under Help in the portal.

How do I invite a candidate to the portal?

Open the candidate's record and click Create portal under Internal, then Update. The candidate gets an email with their own link, and the record shows Activation sent until they sign in. To invite a whole shortlist, tick them on the Candidates list and choose Enable Portal from Actions.

What does a candidate see in the portal?

After creating a password, the candidate lands on a dashboard with every application, the stage it is at and their consultant's email and phone, plus upcoming interviews with the time and the address. They can search your live jobs and apply in one click with the CV already on their profile, and the application lands in your Applications. They keep their own details and CV up to date under My Profile.
