Chasing a hiring manager for feedback by email slows every placement. A client portal gives your client one place to review the candidates you send, comment, book interviews and propose an offer. Every Recruitly agency already has one. This video shows how to set it up and what your client sees.

Watch it on Recruitly Play (2 min 35 s), part of the Get set up series.

Switch the portal on

  1. Press slash and type client portal.
  2. Switch on Enable Portal, give it a name and choose who portal emails come from.
  3. Press Save Portal Settings. Your clients have their own web address.
  4. Under Branding, add your logo and colour.

Decide what clients see and do

  1. Under Access Control, pick the default access level. Limited Access shows only the candidates you share. Full Access shows the whole pipeline.
  2. Pick the pipeline stages clients see at each level.
  3. Choose whether clients can reject candidates or download CVs.
  4. Under Collaboration, let them book interviews and comment on candidates.
  5. Under Notifications, email the client when a set number of candidates are waiting for review.

How do I share a job and invite a client?

On the job's Promote tab, open Client portal and switch on Publish to Client Portal. You can also let the client propose an offer from the portal. Then open the hiring manager's contact record, click Create portal under Internal, check their access and press Send. They get an email with their own link.

What does a client see in the portal?

The client sees their open jobs and upcoming interviews, then a hiring board with every candidate you have put forward, stage by stage. They read the CV and your notes, add their own comments, book an interview, and propose an offer. Nothing goes to the candidate until you have checked it: the offer lands on the candidate's card in your pipeline as a client offer, ready to review.
