How to spec a CV to a client before they even ask
Spot a hiring signal, send a blind CV from BD Hub with an AI-drafted email and a viewing expiry, and watch the card move as the client views it and says yes or no.
A client posts that they might need Customer Success Managers next month. They have not called you, and you can still get there first by sending them a candidate speculatively. BD Hub in Recruitly is where you do it.
Watch it on Recruitly Play (2 min 52 s), part of the Win clients series.
Send a spec CV
- Open BD Hub, go to Spec Send and click New Spec Send.
- Search for the candidate, select the role and the client, and click Continue.
- Send the blind CV, never the original, so the client cannot go around you. Set a file viewing expiry date and preview it.
- Attach the CV to the email if you want, and click Continue.
- AI drafts the email to the client with their first name in. Edit or rewrite it with AI.
- Click Spec Send.
Track the response
The card moves on its own: Viewed when the client opens it, Interested or Not Interested when they say so, and Expired after the expiry date. Preview shows the profile the client sees, without the personal details, and you can message the client from there.
See CV speccing and agency CVs.
Should a spec CV be blind?
Yes. Send the blind CV so the client sees the profile without the candidate's contact details.
How do I know if the client looked at the CV?
The spec send card moves to Viewed when they open it, and to Interested or Not Interested when they respond.
